Obituary for Donna Ruth Stoughton White
Donna was surrounded by her family when she peacefully went home to Heaven on March 8th, 2017, after battling an unexpected brain aneurysm while in Breckenridge, CO. She is survived by her husband John, sons Chad & Ryan, daughter Jenna and husband Mark, grand children Lucy & Forrest, as well as her extended family, numerous close friends and many more she would call family.
Donna grew up in Dresher, PA and attended Upper Dublin High School where she was a featured majorette in the marching band, a member of the swim team, and very involved with Young Life (a non denominational outreach to high school students that simply believes life is about relationships…. with ourselves, our “neighbors” and our creator, God). Although never on the Young Life staff, Donna opened up her life and home to these high school kids, their leaders and the staff of the ministry. In addition to this, she spent over 25 summers in Buena Vista, CO volunteering at two of Young Life’s properties; Trail West, where she directed a Kids Klub Program, and more recently Frontier Ranch.
Donna had a God-given love for people; her gift of hospitality pointed people to Jesus and shaped all who came in contact with her. She modeled out what it meant to be a godly wife, mother and follower of Jesus. Donna had a servant’s heart and a smile that lit up the room. She simply had a passion for life, for her boys, her daughter, grandchildren, and her friends.
Her personal business, “Createinme” (Psalm 51:10), allowed her to use her creative ability to provide designs for the gift industry. After her daughter’s wedding in 2011, she discovered a new passion for coming alongside brides on their most cherished day and assisted them in planning and decorating one of a kind weddings. Her creativity truly brought so much joy to her life and all of those around her.
Donna was beautiful inside and out. She was an irreplaceable and treasured wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by many; cherished and loved forever.
IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, we are asking that donations be sent to Young Life Montco Camp scholarship. Donna was always doing whatever she could to get kids to camp. This scholarship fund will allow kids that do not have the financial means to be able to attend camp!
