Obituary for Keith Richard Kearns
Keith Richard Kearns, age 85, a resident of Centennial, CO, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 26, 2017. He was born in Park City, Utah to Frank and Letitia Kearns. He was the youngest of 4 children. He is a 1949 graduate of Provo High School in Provo, UT.
He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the California Mission. Keith enlisted in the Navy in 1953 and was stationed in San Diego, CA. While stationed there he began dating and later married Janet Clark Gray on June 22, 1957 for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles LDS Temple.
Keith and Janet are the proud parents of four sons and three daughters. Keith finished his military service in the United States Air Force. He served for 20 years and was stationed in California, Okinawa, Utah and Colorado.
Following his retirement from the Air Force in 1974 he started a business, Cherry Knolls Dental Lab. There he continued to work until his retirement. Some of Keith’s other interest included bowling, golf, bowling, cars, bowling, watching the Denver Broncos, bowling, listening to music, bowling, watching the Colorado Rockies and bowling. He also enjoyed bowling and was proud of his “300” game.
Keith is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Janet, and the following children and their spouses, Ken (Joyce) Kearns of Centennial, CO, Ron (Laurie) Kearns of Colorado Springs, CO, Anne (Kevin) Smith of Orem, UT, Kathy (Mark) Van Houten of Provo, UT, Connie (Robert) Davis of Lewisville, TX, David (Joanne) Kearns of Parker, CO, Jerry (Jolene) Kearns of Belleville, MI. and 28 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
A special thanks goes out to all those family, friends, neighbors and church members who showed such love and kindness to Keith and Janet.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 29th at LDS Chapel, 999 E Tufts Ave. Englewood CO 80113. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday morning. Interment will be at Ft. Logan National Cemetery on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in a private family ceremony.
