Obituary for Milton V. "Milt" Wisland
Milton V. Wisland went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 28, 2017. He was born April 3, 1928 in La Crosse, Wisconsin to Melvin and Fern Wisland. He then graduated, both from high school and the University of Wisconsin, in La Crosse. On May 18, 1951 Milt married Elizabeth Homer, his college sweetheart and bride of 65 1/2 years.

He went on to earn a master’s degree while serving in the Air Force and later a doctorate. He thoroughly enjoyed working with children with learning and behavioral disabilities as a school psychologist, on the faculty of Northern Illinois University and Indiana University, as well as, an administrator of several institutions for the handicapped.

He cherished his sweet wife, was a loving father to his children, and was a trustworthy friend. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, sister Betty Anderson, children Lynn McCutchen (Dan), Mark (Sharon), Jim (Jane), his six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Milt had numerous interests that ranged from painting, photography, gardening, hiking, dog breeding, and investing. He loved Golden Retrievers and “Katie the Lady” was a favorite and close companion. Milt found great satisfaction in teaching various courses at Wind Crest. Dad modeled to his family the value of having life-long friendships, a budding curiosity, a strong love of family and exploring the beauty of God’s creation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Milt's memory to:
