Obituary for Simone Lucienne Sante
Our beloved Simone Lucienne Sante, 96, passed away on March 9, 2017 in her Highlands Ranch home.
Simone was very French despite living in the US for most of her life. She was without religious faith and the family has chosen to have her cremated by Ellis Family Services. There will be a memorial celebration of her life to be held at the HRCA Southridge Recreation Center, 4800 McArthur Ranch Rd, Highlands Ranch, on March 24, 2017 from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Food and wine will be served accompanied with a little French music. All of her extended family and friends are welcome to attend to celebrate of her life. Her family will spread her ashes as per her wishes on a warm Rocky Mountain summer day.
Simone was born in Frevent, France to Celine and Andre Darroux on June 1, 1920. She was one of millions of French people who suffered the tragedies of World War II. Her recollections were vivid and will be remembered and documented for her future generations. She married Lt Col Harry W. Daughters, Sr. in 1947 and came to Denver, Colorado in 1950. Mr. Daughters died in 1952, leaving her with her three year old son, Harry, Jr. She moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and married Enrico A. Sante in 1962. They worked oversees for over a decade on the islands of Kwajalein, MI; Manila, Philippines; and Naha, Okinawa. They returned to San Francisco in 1974 and settled into retirement years. In 1990, they moved to Highlands Ranch to be near their son and his growing family. Simone was an avid bridge player and made many friends through the years.
Simone is preceded in death by her parents, Celine and Andre Darroux; her step-mother Genvieve (Mizou) Darroux, her two sisters, Rejane Touret and Michele Geiser .
Simone is survived by her brother Francois Darroux living in Nancy, France; son Harry Daughters and his wife Annette; three grandchildren Matthew Daughters, Nicole Mansour and Andrew Daughters; and five great-grandchildren, Zachary and Blake Daughters, Natalie and Caroline Mansour, and Evelyn Daughters.
Condolences may be left on Simone’s online guestbook.
We appreciate your thoughts and prayers and hope you can join us on March 24.
