Obituary for Barbara E Dietrich

Dietrich, Barbara Ellen, age 81 of Aurora, Colorado. Barbara, loving wife to Robert Dietrich, passed away on September 25, 2015 at the age of 81. Barbie was born on November 17, 1933 in Ovid, CO to Doyle Porter Likely, Sr. and Elizabeth Jane Drummond.

Barbie is survived by her mother, Betty Likely, age 106; two daughters, Jill Whitley Maxwell (David) and Jenifer Whitley; seven grandchildren, Megan Maxwell Lips (Paul), Mindy Maxwell Jensen (Russell), Matthew Maxwell, Nathan Whitley (Heather), Mark Maxwell, Nyle Watterson, and Mason Maxwell; and nine great-grandchildren, Haley, Alexis, and Levi Lips, Corbin, Cody, Colton, and Cora Jensen, Tyler Whitley, and Emry Whitley. She is also survived by three brothers, William Likely (JoAn), Doyle Likely, Jr. (Barbara), Gary Likely (Jimmie), three generations of nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Barbie was preceded in death by her father, Doyle Likely, Sr., sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Dale Hammer, grandson, Nolan Whitley, and nephew, Doyle Likely III.

Barbie lived in several different areas of Colorado as well as Portland, Oregon. She graduated in 1952 from Englewood High School and worked for Joslins Department Store for 22 years. Barbie was known for her devotion to her family and for her kind, loving, and generous heart. The way by which she lived was "to be nice to everyone" and her beautiful smile and laughter were contagious. Through the course of her life, she held a strong faith in God and prayed for each family member and friend daily. Our sweet and loving mother will be dearly missed.
