Obituary for Barbara Ellen Cline
Barbara Ellen was born in 1935 to Ellis Donald Goodwin and Anna Kathryn Goodwin (nee Petersen) in Sioux City, IA. Most recently from Aurora, CO, she passed away on January 10th, 2021 in Fort Collins, CO.

She married her Morningside College sweetheart, Hollister “Phil” Cline in 1955, and they relocated to Topeka, KS when Phil joined the Air Force specializing as a Jet Engine mechanic. Barb attended Washburn University to acquire a Bachelor of Education degree and taught first grade and special needs students. After finishing his enlistment, they moved to Ames, IA where Phil finished his education at Iowa State University. This is where they started a family with their oldest daughter Sandra being born in 1960. Another move when Phil was offered a drafting position with the Cherry-Burrell Corp in Cedar Rapids, IA. This is where their daughter Cheryl was born in 1963, and their son Donald was born in 1965. They once again relocated to Ames, IA, when Phil accepted a position with the General Filter Corp helping design water treatment plants. While raising her kids in Ames, Barb worked for the State of Iowa-Department of Highways and later as a Keypunch Operator for Iowa State University. In 1980, they relocated to Aurora, CO where Barb started working for Western Geophysical, performing Data Entry for an oil and gas exploration company. She worked there for several years before once again relocating, this time to Boise, ID in 1991. They remained there until they retired, and in 2006, decided to return to Aurora, CO, to be closer to family & friends.

Barb was an active member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Aurora and participated in weekly bible study groups. Barb was a member of the women’s sorority, Beta Sigma Phi, serving as secretary and treasurer. She was an avid Denver Broncos fan and loved to cheer on her team. She was also a member of the “Red Hats Society,” building a large group of friends.

Barb was preceded in death by her mother Anna Kathryn Goodwin, Father Ellis Donald Goodwin, stepmother Mildred Emily Goodwin (nee Knapp), husband of 53 years, Phil Cline, his brothers Johnny Cline and Russell Cline, sister Marilyn Knudsen, brother-in-law Bruce Knudsen, dear friend Carl DeGrado, and her daughter Cheryl’s husband Jose Rangel. Barb’s dear friend Myra DeGrado passed away the following morning after her.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Joanne Cline, daughters Sandy (Scott) Hoffman and Cheryl Rangel, son Don (Heidi) Cline, grandchildren Michelle Villanueva, Jennifer (Ross) Radtke, Jesse (Sarah) Richardson, Coty Carmack, and great grandchildren Myles, Andrew, Jillian, Jayden, Olivia, Linnea, and Reed.

Barb was an incredibly kind and generous women who will be greatly missed by anyone and everyone who had the honor of knowing her!
