Obituary for Betty Lavon Dyer
Dyer, Betty Lavon, age 90, of Parker. Betty was born March 29th, 1923, married September 11th, 1942 and passed on May 6th, 2013. Betty was a beautiful, talented, giving woman who we will miss with every heart beat as we move forward in our lives. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother who loved and lived each and every day of her life. She had a sense of adventure in her soul, and we know she is now on to the next adventure in her life. She also had a wicked sense of humor. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Forrest Dyer, by her son, Craig Dyer and her daughter, Sandra Dyer Weyand. Her son, Steven Dyer, passed away in 1993. Betty is survived by her sister, Dorothy Crabtree. Her brother, Wayne, passed away in 1985. She is also survived by her grand children: Shelby Elena Morris, Bradley Steven Morris and Olivia Ione Weyand. Her grandson, Bradley, will be married July 28th, adding another beautiful daughter, Lani Pedroza, to our family. Did you know… • Her favorite color was blue; • She was an avid golfer, and a well known artist; • Mom and Dad travelled the country square dancing, and they enjoyed Senior hostels; • Loved bowling and bird watching, and • A passionate volunteer working with children and reading. As a wife and mother, she was known for her cooking. Never a short cut, all of mom’s foods were home made with love. She also made the best pie crust, ever, ever. Betty was cremated, her ashes are being interred at Fort Logan Cemetery, a military cemetery, here in Denver, Colorado.
