Obituary for Brendan W. Buckley-Goraczkowski
Brendan, age 15 of Monument, Colorado.
Brendan was an amazing son that has brightened the lives so many and touched the lives of more than we ever knew. Brendan grew up as a Colorado native and has always found home to be near the mountains. This love for the mountains grew to the outdoors and into a Scouting career. Brendan achieved so much through his scouting life and learned so many skills, but for him the joy came from sharing these passions with others. You could often find him helping, guiding and supporting others in Scouting and in life. Brendan has been known to be the guy offering advice, giving a shoulder, offering his lunch to those with none, giving clothes to those that were cold, but never did any of this for attention or recognition. B was a great big brother to Levi, loved his new Mom Jamie and brought joy to us all as a new family unit. B also had a love for animals but none more than his precious River, a cat that he taught to play fetch and hide and seek.
Brendan also had a passion for travel and we took the time to explore this amazing country from coast to coast. In his short 15-1/2 years he traveled to 38 states, 3 Canadian Providences and Costa Rica. He loved a good road trip or flight to see something or experience something new. A few if his favorite adventures were to Costa Rica to zip line and Scuba Dive, Ice Climbing, hiking in the Banff mountains, Hersey Park for New Year’s Eve to see the giant kiss drop, catching a 35” Lingcod off the coast of WA, Harley Davidson rides through the Rockies, the 100+ nights of camping in the wild, or hundreds of miles hiking and biking.
Brendan is the best person we have ever known! Son, we will see you again, and your life is now in heaven where you can watch from above and see all you did to make this world a better place. Your gifts to this world of comfort, passion, love and dedication to others will be a model for others to follow. We love you now and forever, our precious B. Love Dad, Jamie, Levi, and River
