Obituary for Carol Lynn Kessler
Carol (Carlino) Kessler, of Highlands Ranch, CO, passed on February 16, 2012, less than one month after being diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD). Carol was born in Chicago, IL on November 18, 1965. Carol was extraordinarily gifted at dance and studied the art of dance her entire life. She attended Mother McCauley High School, where she excelled in theatrical arts and dance. She helped fund her college education at Governors State University by performing in a dance troupe at the Sabre Room (a South Chicago landmark hosting names such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Tony Bennett). After earning a bachelor’s degree in finance, she worked at various companies associated with the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE). She also choreographed musicals for local high schools and taught aerobics. After moving to Denver, Carol gave up her career in finance to devote her life to raising her four children. During the school day, Carol worked as a Teacher Assistant at Cherry Hills Christian School, where her two boys attended school, and later volunteered at the girls’ school, Wildcat Mountain Elementary. Carol continued to dance, regularly performing in the Dual Star annual dance recital with her girls. Carol was able to adapt her love for the art of movement to Tae Kwon Do, where she earned a second degree black belt, was an instructor for several years, and regularly earned first place trophies in tournaments for her perfect form. Carol also kept busy with other arts, including graphic arts, photography, needlework, crochet and stained glass. Carol is survived by her husband, Jeff Kessler; four children: Hunter Kessler, Andy Tinlin, Darcy Kessler and Devon Kessler; her parents Peter and Emma Carlino of Hickory Hills, IL; sister Dawn Covert of Frankfort, IL; and brother Damon Carlino of Tinley Park, IL.
Cemetery: Graveside interment service at 2:00 PM following the reception.
