Cecilia was born in Beloit, Kansas, the second child of four children, born to Melvina Margaret Nicholson and Orwan Wesley Nicholson.
Cecilia's three siblings and parents preceded her in death. Cyl’s father died when she was only seven years old to leave her mother, Margaret, the task of raising the family alone.
Cecilia attended the public elementary schools and Saint John the Baptist Catholic High School in Beloit, Kansas, graduating in 1957.
After her graduation, she married Walter C. Hunter, Jr. from Cawker City, KS, on August 6th, 1957. Walt was stationed at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, CO, at the time, where they continued to live and raise their four children. The oldest daughter, Cynthia Ann Hunter (Kurchinski), preceded Cyl’s death on October 20th,1994.

Tree, CO, Andrea Dawn Gioia (Mike) Bowmar, CO, Mark David Stephens (USMC) (Danielle) Manassas, VA, Jeffrey Paul Stephens (Michelle) of Littleton, CO, Shelby Bryce Hunter, Denver, CO, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Cyl’s employment was in the retail and banking industry as an Executive Assistant to the President and CFO of Co Biz bank, where she retired in 2017 due to her health Cyl enjoyed dancing, gardening, crocheting, and hosting parties for the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren for all the holidays and birthdays throughout their growing lives.
Cyl was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Parish where she practiced her faith and belief in God the Father Almighty and was a member of the Ladies of Charity.

The funeral Mass for Cecilia will be held at Saint Frances Cabrini Catholic Parish 6673 West Chatfield Ave., Littleton CO, on November the 30th at 10:30 AM.
On November the 29th a viewing will be held at 6:00 pm followed with the Rosary at 7:00 pm at the Chapel at Ellis Family Services, 13436 West Arbor Place, Littleton, CO, 80127.
