Obituary for Charles F. "Chuck" Todesco
Chuck was born at General Rose Hospital in Denver, CO, April 4th, 1972. Chuck was named after both of his grandfathers, Charles Lucian Todesco and Frederick Henry Kohloss.
Chuck was a Colorado native. He grew up in Lakewood, and spent time with family in Pueblo, Howard, Tucson, AZ, and Hawaii.
Chuck attended Westgate Elementary School, Carmody Junior High School and Bear Creek High School. Chuck was involved in all kinds of sports from an early age, and before high school, he participated on recreational soccer, baseball, wrestling, swim, tennis, and football teams. His dad, Charlie, coached some of these teams. Chuck ultimately received a football scholarship to attend the Colorado School of Mines and after a year transferred to the University of Northern Colorado. In high school, Chuck was a good student and academics were easy for him.
Chuck decided he was not ready to be a serious college student and joined the U.S. Army. His maternal Grandfather and great Grandfather were both in the Army Corps of Engineers, and he wanted to continue their military legacy by joining the same branch of the service. He served in the Army for seven years, including training at Fort Polk, Louisiana, and deployments in Bosnia (doing mine sweeping and bridge building), and two tours to the DMZ in Korea in the 1990s.
Chuck married and was honorably discharged from the Army to be with his family. His three girls Caitlyn, Marissa, and Sarah arrived October 2001, January 2004, and August 2005.
Chuck’s family lived in Colorado Springs, moving to Buena Vista when he was hired by Alpine Lumber Company as a truss designer. While in Buena Vista he started his own Company, called Caddis Design and Drafting, as a home designer. After his divorce, he worked at several different Alpine Lumber stores. He was still working for them at their Metro-Denver Design Center when he suddenly and unexpectedly passed away.
Chuck was always a sportsman. He and his dad began fishing, hunting deer, antelope, and pheasant together as soon as he was old enough. Chuck continued this tradition throughout his adult life passing it along to his children. Chuck also rode motorcycles and snowmobiles growing up, again a tradition he continued with ATV’s and Harley Davidson Motorcycles. Chuck also loved the Denver Broncos, a long-time season ticket holder and professional tailgater.
Chuck found new life when he met the love of his life, Heather Holm. Chuck was elated when Caitlyn, Marissa, and Sarah joined Heather’s children, Taylor and husband Ty, Jordan, and Jenna. They hiked and did things together as a family. Chuck and Heather rode Harleys, laughed, and loved each other and their family. Chuck and Heather’s first anniversary would have been July 11, 2021.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Heather; parents, Charlie Todesco (Elizabeth), Charlotte Foster (Phil); sister C.C. Todesco; daughters, Caitlyn, Marissa and Sarah; stepchildren, Taylor (Ty) Veres, Jenna and Jordan LaKomy.
