Norton, Charles William, 85 of Littleton Colorado passed away peacefully on Friday, November 23, 2012. Born in Monroe, Michigan to Edith and William Norton he lived most of his life in Littleton, Colorado. He married his sweetheart Betty Lou Shirley on February 14,1948. She proceeded him in death in 1996 after 48 years of marriage. Chuck was a kind and generous man who loved people and had a tremendous passion for cars. He enjoyed restoring and collecting cars and participated in off road racing. He was a regular at local car shows with his classic cars and loved to participate in the Western Welcome Parade each year with the miniature firetruck that he restored. Chuck was a handyman that could build or repair most anything. He was a butcher by trade and worked for 30 plus years as a meat market manager for Safeway. In 1945 he enlisted in the Army. After basic training at Camp Beale, CA he was stationed in Japan outside of Tokyo. He worked in the motor battalion, driving a truck and hauling rations and supplies around the Tokyo/Yokohama area. He also worked in the motor pool, servicing and repairing military vehicles. Chuck was very athletic and while in the military his softball team won a championship. Chuck was extremely loving and proud of his three daughters, Kathi Vargo of Ramona, CA, Diane Compton of Houston TX, and Pamm Paylor of Highlands Ranch. He is survived by his sisters, Velma Ligrani, Arlene Boyett, and Bonnie Allen. His brother, Pete Norton proceeded him in death. He left three loving grandsons, Tony Benavidez, Mike Benavidez and Lucas Paylor and his great grandaughter, Lilly Benavidez.
