Constance Rae Gray passed away peacefully in her sleep September 14, 2020. She was the loving wife of S. Thomas Gray for 66 years years, mother to David Gray (Elizabeth Gray) & Lisa Gray, grandmother to Travis Gray (Vanessa Gray), Kelsey Kersbergen (Andy Kersbergen), Madison Murphy (Kevin Murphy) & Corinne Larsen. She was also a great-grandmother to Linnea & Lily Gray, Ben & Avery Kersbergen, and Constance Rae & Seamus Murphy. Connie is survived by her sister Verlaine Showell and brother Bill Showell (Arlene Showell). She was deeply loved by all her family.
Connie was an amazing woman of great character and intelligence. She was born New Year’s Day 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended the University of Utah where she was a member of the Tri-Delta Sorority. At the university, she met Tom, and they were married June 7, 1954. They lived in Salt Lake City, Utah; Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and for the last 46 years, Centennial, Colorado.
Connie had a career as a travel agent for over 25 years. She traveled the world and guided many others on their travels. She and Tom volunteered at the Wildlife Exhibit Museum after they retired. Travel was one of her passions, along with gardening, reading, and cooking. She was especially good at making cookies—Tom loves cookies!
Connie will be dearly missed. Memorial donations can be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
