Obituary for Cornelius J. "Neal" Driscoll
Cornelius James Driscoll Jr. AKA “Big Neal” of Littleton, Colorado, formerly of South Boston, Massachusetts, passed away May 23rd, 2020. Neal was born on May 16th, 1941 in South Boston.
Neal married the love of his life on September 4th, 1965. From that time on, they were known as Neal and Dottie: neither was mentioned without the other. They went on to have five children, six grandchildren and five great grandsons with another on the way.
Neal joined the Navy and served his country from 1962-1966. He wanted to carry on the tradition of his father and grandfather. He served just under 3 years on the USS Fort Snelling overseas during his time in the Navy. Neal was Honorably Discharged after serving his four-year term. After his discharge, Neal worked for American Airlines for 27 years; which took him to Texas in the 80’s and then Golden, Colorado. Later he worked for Douglas County Public Schools as a bus driver for handicapped children. He loved working with kids: after all, he was a big kid at heart.
Neal was a big man, which led to his nickname for all of the neighborhood kids; “Big Neal!” Neal was funny, loved to laugh, loved his family and the Lord, Jesus Christ. Anyone who was lucky enough to know him loved him.
Cornelius "Neal" Driscoll is survived by his loving children; Catherine, Neal, Kristen, Michael, and Matthew and wife Cheryl Driscoll: Grandchildren Carrissa Burns and Husband Seth, Kianna Cardinal and husband Jack, Brion O’Driscoll and wife Jessika, Kayla Brewer and husband Tristan, and Euan and Emsley Driscoll. Great Grandsons, Colby, Rowan and Kellan Burns, Eoin Cardinal, and Deklyn Brewer.
Due to our current pandemic situation, there will not be a Wake. Instead there will be a viewing an hour prior to the funeral mass from 3 PM to 4 PM; which will be held on Thursday, May 28, at Light of the World Roman Catholic Church in Littleton, CO
