Daniel Lee Toland, a devoted husband, cherished father, and beloved grandfather, born September 13, 1954, sadly passed away on November 9th, 2023 at the ripe old age of 39. He leaves behind a legacy of wit, wisdom, love and adventure that touched the lives of all who knew him.
Overcoming so many challenges in life, Dan was a man of extreme intelligence, relentless determination, and diverse passions. His love and devotion to his family was unparalleled, and his time with his three grandchildren brought him immeasurable joy.
As an outdoor enthusiast, he found comfort and enjoyment in activities that allowed him to connect with nature, family, and friends. From the crackling of a campfire to the thrill of shooting , hunting, flying, or riding ...every moment spent in pursuit of his adventures found him new excitement and brought him a profound sense of contentment as he truly lived to experience life.
His insatiable fascination with science fiction fueled his imagination and profoundly inspired him as an engineer. He considered himself so fortunate to have witnessed the fantastic ideas come to be as wonders of science and technology during his lifetime and passed that passion forward to his namesake as part of his legacy. A lifelong learner, he shared his wisdom generously, impacting the lives of all those around him.
Above all, Dan was a pillar of honor, respect, wisdom, and friendship; a hero to those fortunate enough to know him. His legacy will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Nita, his two adoring children, Richard and Patrick, and his cherished grandchildren.
In honoring his memory, a celebration of his life will take place at 10:00 am on December 6th, 2023 at Cabin Creek Brewing, Georgetown, CO. For those unable to attend, please feel free to share any upbeat memories or pictures you may have of Dan.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Denver Fire Department, the National Forest, or Division of Wildlife in honor of his passion for life and the outdoors.
