Obituary for Danny James Stoermer
Stoermer, Danny James, age 34 of Byers. Danny took his final cowboy ride to heaven on November 15, 2014 at University Hospital in Aurora, Colorado due to complication from a Virus. Danny was born on May 18, 1980 in Spencer, Iowa to Larry and Vickie (Ries) Stoermer, the youngest of three children. Danny’s first four years of life were spent on the farm in Northwest Iowa where his love for animals first developed, Danny loved to play in the feed bunks with the baby lambs and his old dog Blue was always by his side keeping him out of trouble. In 1984 Danny moved with his family to Fort Morgan, Colorado where he started his elementary education, then to Limon, and finally to Strasburg where he graduated from Strasburg High School in 1999. Danny was an active member of 4-H and showed just about every type of animal, as most everyone knows, Danny loved to rope and could most often be found on the back of his buckskin Truck in an arena whenever he could get by with it. After graduation Danny attended a semester of college at LCCC pursuing his love for horses through their Equine Management program and his passion for rodeo on their college rodeo team. That passion then led him to Pine Run Ranch with Shane Brown where he learned to train and show Reining Horses. Danny had a couple of different jobs, before his Cowboy way of life led him and his family to Gunnison where he worked on the Cross Bar Ranch with Bill Redden. Danny moved back to Byers in 2005 so they could be closer to family and went to work for Bradbury Land and Cattle Company. Danny’s final job was working for Thompson Farms managing the cow herd. Danny was a true cowboy and should have been born a century earlier. Danny was an amazing husband, father, son and Brother and friend to many. He always had an easy smile on his face and a scarf around his neck. Danny never met a stranger and would talk to anyone. Danny left behind a beautiful wife Stephanie (Paine) Stoermer, four children Breyanna 15, Madison 10, Austin 9, and Tyler 4. His parents Larry and Vickie Stoermer, Sister Heather (Greg) Magee, Brother Jason (Jamie) Stoermer, In-Laws Peggy & Gilbert Paine, Michelle Paine and Ed, 11 nieces and nephews, and numerous aunts and uncles. Danny was preceded in death by his grandparents Don and Genevive Ries and Joy and Bonnie Stoermer and his uncle Donald Ries.
