Obituary for David J. McLaughlin
David, age 68 of Denver, Colorado.
David John McLaughlin was born on October 2, 1951 in Crookston, Minnesota to John. H. McLaughlin and Glendora Larson.
David’s family settled in the San Fernando Valley in California. David attended Chatsworth High School and he excelled in athletics. Before graduating in 1969, he had a successful run as the football quarterback and was an awarding winning track hurdler also known as the “best in the west.” David attended college at Cal State Northridge and graduated with a B.S. degree in Geography.
Upon moving to Colorado in 1984, David worked for Kroonenburg Lumber company as a forklift operator and retired from Stock Building Supply in 2009. David met his wife, Barbara Fuss, in Denver, Colorado in 1990. They were married on September 6, 2005 in Las Vegas. David and Barbara had two beagles in their lives; Doc Holiday and Wyatt Earp.
Dave was an avid golfer, fisherman, water sportsman and traveler and he enjoyed his friends, family and the outdoors for many years. His favorite sports teams were the Notre Dame
David is survived by his wife Barbara, siblings, Patrick McLaughlin, Kathy Smith, John McLaughlin, Christal Morefield, Bonnie Deagon and his daughter, Teri Sullivan.
