Obituary for Doran B. Moeckel

Doran Moeckel, 75, of Hebron, Ohio passed away January 1st, 2021 at her daughter’s house in Littleton, Colorado after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Doran was surrounded by her husband, daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren and sister while fighting this terrible illness for 5 months and 8 days from diagnosis.

Doran was born April 20, 1945 in Columbus, Ohio to David and Betty Newhall. She married the love of her life, James Moeckel on April 29, 1967. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, as well as her daughter, Carrie Moeckel. Doran was a much loved mother of Carl (Noelle) Moeckel, Carrie Moeckel, and Allison (Mike) Rooney, and a beloved grandmother to Audrey and Jack Rooney and Seth, Carissa, Sylvia, Nathan and Ariel Moeckel.

Doran was a dedicated mother and grandmother, first and foremost. She treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and spending time with those she loved, including many of her dear friends. She will be greatly cherished in our memories.
