Obituary for Earl Elton Repp
Earl Elton Repp, born on October 16, 1919, in Messex County, Julesburg, Colorado, passed away on June 14, 2018 at the beautiful age of 98 years, 7 months, and 26 days. “What a life!” as he often said.
One of six children, he watched his father get paid in cows and pigs during the Depression, bought a Model T for $25, and delivered the paper for the Denver Post. He came close but never completed his degree in History at Colorado Teachers College in Greeley. Instead, he entered the United States Army, Signal Corps, and served during WWII. He returned to work for the Western Electric Phone company, working there until his retirement. Western Electric moved him to Los Angeles, California where he met the prettiest girl he had ever seen. Anita Mae Young and Earl Elton Repp were married on December 5, 1953 making Earl a ready-made father.
Earl adopted Terry, Sheila and Sandy, and with Anita fathered Roger, Rick and Trudy. He is the father-in-law of Chris, Harold and Jeanie. He is the grandfather of Lisa Marie (Conrad), Corrina, Brian (Kara), Kelly (Jason), Kara, Wendy, Ryan, Andrea (Chris), Tessa (Brian), Lisa Rae, Emily (Dan), and Chloe. He is the great-grandfather of Isaak, Maya, Parker and Audrey. Earl was a man devoted to his wife. He loved his children. He took great pride in his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a man of faith, character, wisdom, intelligence, creativity, resourcefulness, and humor. He thought the best of everyone, smiled at strangers, loved children, and thought everyone else was surely older than he.
His life and faith will be celebrated on June 30, 2018, 10:00 a.m., at Littleton United Methodist Church, 5894 S. Datura Street, Littleton, Colorado, 80120. He will be laid to rest beside his wife at Oakdale Memorial Park in Glendora, California at a later date.
To the end, Earl gave to support his church, Littleton United Methodist Church, and two ministries to feed the homeless, AfterHours and Break Bread. To honor his life, we invite you to do the same. He is loved. He is missed.
