GRIEF & HEALING
affirmations to uplift & help you through
each stage of the grieving process.
Eleanor of Denver, Colorado, passed on January 8, 2020 at the age of 88. She was born in Welby, Colorado on January 11, 1931 To Adam and Mamie Domenico.
She met the love of her live Francis (Fritz) Berns at the Denver Dancing Academy in downtown Denver in 1953. They were married at Assumption Church on May 9, 1954 and were married for 65 years. With the exception of a couple of years early in their marriage when Fritz was stationed at Sioux City Airbase in Iowa, they lived and raised their family in Denver, Colorado.
Eleanor and Fritz loved to travel and explored the world. Eleanor was a loving Mother, a talented homemaker and made the best lasagna each year for our family Christmas dinner gathering. As we all sat down for dinner, she always said, “I’m not guaranteeing it”. But we all knew without a doubt, it would taste great. She was very proud that she made the last batch of lasagna all by herself with no help.
Eleanor loved to read and color with all her grandkids and great grandkids. The kids looked forward to her container of pretzels and box of fruit snacks.
She is survived by her husband Fritz Berns; children Donna (Tim), Dave (Kristen), and Rick (Nita); six grandchildren Jaime, Shayne, Derek, Jeff, Nadine and Ian; ten great grandchildren Kaelie, Charli, Hudson, Shelby, Griffin, Caleb, Hadley, Gunnar, Joanna and Wesley; her sister Bernice along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Adam and Mamie Domenico; brother Stephen and granddaughter Kacie.
