Obituary for George David Sullivan
Sullivan, George David, age 53, of Englewood.
George David Sullivan was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 15, 1964 and spent his childhood growing up on the east coast and in Illinois before moving to Miami, FL in his twenties. He spent most of his time at work in restaurant management, and it was in Miami that he met his wife, Christi. They moved to Englewood, CO and married on November 19, 1994 before starting their family, and after leaving the restaurant industry he began dedicating his time to safety and preparedness at the American Red Cross for over seven years. Outside of work, he was active in the Catholic church and its community, and he was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus for over fifteen years.
Always wanting to create a safe space for his community, he volunteered and was incredibly active with the Englewood Police Department, Citizen's Academy, CERT, and more.
He passed away in his home in Englewood on February 14, 2018.
George's passions included all things safety and preparedness. He valued everyone he loved very deeply and worked tirelessly to ensure his family and friends would be safe and ready for anything. His love, strength, and knowledge left a heavy impact on everyone he met; he dedicated himself unconditionally and intensely to the people and work that he loved. He was a loyal friend, a passionate husband, and an inspiring father. There are not enough words to express how much he will be missed.
Surviving him are his wife, Christi, and his two daughters, Alexis and Kendra, as well as his older sister Deirdre, his younger sister Mary, and his mother Mary Jane. He was preceded in death by his father, William.
