Pierson, Heath Lee, age 25 of Lakewood. Heath died on Jan. 20, 2015, in Lakewood, Colorado, in a motor-vehicle accident. He was born in North Platte, Nebraska, on July 10, 1989, to Brian and Jill (Hoge) Pierson. Heath grew up in McCook, Nebraska, and graduated from McCook High School in 2008. Heath was active in athletics in high school. He played basketball, football and summer baseball. After graduation, Heath moved to Denver to attend Johnson & Wales University and studied business and culinary arts. He graduated in 2012 with a degree in business finance. Heath worked at Jax Fish House in downtown Denver. Heath also lived a year in Steamboat Springs, making a daily trip to the ski slopes before heading to work at Café Diva. He enjoyed golfing, fly fishing and skiing. At age 16, Heath decided to be listed as an organ donor. He remained committed to this each time he renewed his driver's license. As a result of this decision, Heath's organs were harvested for donation to waiting recipients. Heath was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Norman and Marilyn (Brown) Hoge of Columbus, Nebraska. He is survived by his mother, Jill Hoge-Smith (Kent Grabouski) of Beatrice, Nebraska; father, Brian Pierson and fiancée, Judy Havoc of Lincoln, Nebraska; brother, Blayne Pierson (Rachel Graffagnini) of New Orleans, Louisiana; niece, Hadley Pierson of New Orleans; aunts and uncles, Jeff Hoge of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jane Hoge of Falls Church, Virginia, Jim (Sue) Hoge of Columbus, Nebraska, Brad (Katie) Pierson of Loveland, Colorado, and Brooke Pierson of Genoa, Nebraska; and paternal grandparents, Darwin (Connie) Pierson of Genoa, Nebraska.
Cemetery:
A private family interment will take place at a later date.
Service:
Memorial services will be at Evangelical Free Church in McCook, Nebraska with Rev. Jeff Donelan officiating.
