Obituary for Jo Nell Pryor
Mrs. Jo Nell (Joslin) Pryor, of Garland, TX, born October 16, 1935 in Tira, Texas to Melvin Cecil and Martha Lucille (Lewis) Joslin, joined her beloved family in the Kingdom of Heaven on June 14, 2016. She was raised on the Joslin family farm in Tira until she graduated from North Hopkins High School in Hopkins County in 1953.
Jo Nell married the love of her life, Charles Pryor on November 12, 1955, in Dallas, TX. Together, they had three sons, Mark Allen Pryor, Tracy Clay Pryor, and Tommy Glen Pryor. Though she was born in and raised her sons in Texas, she also had residences in Colorado and Nevada.
Mrs. Pryor enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, writing, travelling, cooking, and shopping. One of her greatest joys was the time she spent with her Grandson, Patrick Tommas Pryor. She loved great phone conversations with brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. She also enjoyed sending and receiving cards and letters and learning about other persons travels.
Mrs. Pryor closed her eyes to this earth and opened them to heaven. She was a good and faithful servant to the Lord and was loving, nurturing, and hard working. She will be forever remembered and her legacy will live on through us stronger than ever before, for that is what has been intended since the beginning. She taught her family well and lived what she believed through all adversity so that we not only heard her wisdom but saw it in all of her being. We were all truly blessed to have her in our lives and blessed to call her Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Aunt, and Friend.
Mrs. Pryor is survived by her son Tracy Clay Pryor and partner Todd Lee Richardson of Nevada and son Tommy Glen Pryor and daughter-in-law Janene (Plumlee) of Colorado; her grandson Patrick Tommas Pryor of Garland; her brother Melvin Junior and sister-in-law Melba Joyce (Pryor) Joslin of Royse City, TX, sister Mary Lucille (Joslin) Oliphant of Irving, TX, brother Jerry Glenn Joslin and sister-in law Mickye Lynn (Barrott), sister Kathy Marie (Joslin) Renneker of Las Vegas, NV and brother Larry Odell Joslin of Caddo Mills. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Charles Clayton Pryor; her parents Melvin and Lucille Joslin; her first born son, Mark Pryor; brother-in-laws, Wayne Oliphant, Paul Renneker; sister-in-law, Gloria Joslin; and beloved nephews, David Neal Joslin and Howard Karl Joslin.
