Obituary for John Arlen Boddy
John Arlen Boddy, 79, of Littleton, Colorado passed away on Wednesday June 29th at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado. John was born January 23, 1937 in Hillburn, NY to John Vincent and Letetia Boddy. He graduated from Ramsey High School in New Jersey where he was senior class president, and was on both the football and wrestling teams. He studied mechanical engineering at Antioch College in Ohio before moving to California where he served as a 1ST Lieutenant in the United States Army National Guard and Army Reserves. He then moved to Colorado to work for Colorado Instruments in Broomfield and later spent 20+ years as an Ordnance Engineer for Martin Marietta in the aerospace program. John taught himself to ski and became a member of the National Volunteer Ski Patrol at St. Mary’s Glacier and Keystone Resort. He loved riding his Harley, and rode every chance he got as a member of The Colorado Freewheelers Motorcycle Club.
John was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Survivors include his wife Lillian, daughters Terra and Talia Boddy, his brother Jerry & wife Sylvia, his sister Sandy and husband Chuck, his sister Brenda, and numerous nieces and nephews.
