Obituary for John P. Kelly
John Patrick Kelly, age 90, of Highlands Ranch, formerly of Reading, MA, died Saturday December 23, 2017. Beloved husband of 60 years of Constance (Connie Elliott) Kelly. Devoted father of John (Jack) Kelly and his wife Diane of Pembroke Pines, FL, Kathleen Kelly Lieberman and her husband Lorin of Lakewood, CO, Paul Kelly and his wife Linda of Superior, CO, Ruth Kelly Headden and her husband Paul of Parker, CO, Mark Kelly of Arlington, MA, Kenneth Kelly and his wife Lisa of Worcester, MA and Kara Kelly Kelty and her husband John of Flagstaff, AZ. A proud and devoted grandfather of 11, Britni and Camille Kelly of FL, Brian and Alison Lieberman and Emily and Jenna Headden of CO, Daniel, Thomas and Erin Kelly of MA, Kaela and Benjamin Kelty of AZ, 5 step-grandchildren and 1 step-great grandchild and as well as many nieces and nephews.
A graduate of Malden Catholic High School and Suffolk University in Boston. In Colorado, he was very involved in the church with St. Mary’s and St. Thomas More Catholic Church. He liked staying active, picking up rollerblading in his sixties, the outdoors and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Before moving to Colorado, he was an active participant in drum corp activity, serving three terms as President of Eastern Mass Drum & Bugle Corps Association, as well as teaching several of the member units.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mary (Morgan) Kelly and Patrick Kelly of Malden, MA and Ireland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Porter Hospice Foundation in John's memory.
