Obituary for John Patrick Bruno, Sr.
The BEST Man in the World John Patrick Bruno, Sr. was born on May 4, 1956, to Louis Bruno and Lucy Avery Bruno in Westerly, Connecticut. In 1974, John enlisted in the US Army and served as an 11 Bravo, Infantryman. He remained in the Army until he retired on July 31, 1994. John was stationed in Korea multiple times, as well as in the United States as a recruiter and rifle range cadre. While serving in the Army, John was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, and other ribbons and awards to include the Expert Infantryman Badge as well as the Multi-national Forces Observers’ Medal.
John is survived by his wife, US Army Veteran Beatrice Bruno; his children - Tara G. Donahoo (Tom), William John Bruno, John Patrick Bruno, Jr., and Emmanuelle Jesua Bruno; one grandson, Guage Michael; a beautiful future daughter-in-love, Billie; three bonus grandchildren, Tiffany Faith, Skylar, and Michael. He also leaves behind his mother, Lucy Emma Higley, his sister, Jennifer Ann Platts, his niece, Jakiea Altisha Stallworth, and a plethora of ‘adopted-in-love’ sons, daughters, nieces, and nephews. John was a friend to many, a father to most, and an encourager to all.
He is preceded in death by his “Dad,” STSCS (US Navy Retired) William F. Higley.
A soldier in life; a soldier in eternity: SFC John Bruno will be missed by all.

Also, a special thanks to the workers on Mr. Bruno’s team at Lanter Delivery Systems University Hospital for your diligent efforts in performing CPR procedures before the arrival of the ambulance.
