Obituary for Jonathan William Zeiger
Jonathan, age 36 of Centennial, Colorado.
Jonathan “Jon” Zeiger was born June 15, 1981 and went to join his mother Judy and two brothers, Christopher and Patrick, in heaven on October 17, 2017 in Centennial, Colorado. His father, John, his six siblings, Aaron, Elizabeth, Nathan, Adam, Luke and David, and his niece, Dalaney, survive him.
Jon was a fun and loving person with a generous heart and amazing passion. He was always willing to lend a hand and would give the shirt off his own back. Jon also had an incredible mind with a voracious appetite for knowledge. He read everything he could get his hands on whether it was fiction fantasy or mathematical theory. If he was presented with a problem like needing to remodel a kitchen all he had to do was find information and he could turn that into a reality.
To Jon there was no challenge too great. He was an avid hiker and enjoyed being in the backcountry. He was always planning his next trip, which inevitably include 15 or more miles a day with several 14ers in between. Jon also worked one of the most dangerous jobs fishing for crab, salmon, and herring commercially. He constantly liked to push himself both mentally and physically.
One of the greatest things that will be missed about Jon was his contagious spirit. He lived life with such passion that it overflowed to those around him. Seeking to break the norm and push boundaries in order to have the next adventure. After hanging out with Jon that passion pushed you to try new and harder things. To plan your own adventure or summit another mountain. He will live on in the hearts of those who survive him, continuing to explore the world and overcome its obstacles along with them.
