Joe of Denver, Colorado.
Joseph Smith was surrounded by his family in his final days. On January 12, 2023, at 62, he left us too soon. The third of four children, Joseph was born on October 28, 1960, in Dallas, Texas.
Joseph thrived growing up in Irving, a suburb of Dallas, with regular trips to Colorado to visit extended family. A self-described city boy, he was less than amused when the family packed up and moved to the country outside the small Texas town of Maypearl. As soon as he graduated, he was off to seek adventure in other parts of the country. With a restless spirit he moved around a bit early on, but with a tight family bond, Joseph settled in Colorado where the rest of his family had migrated.
Joseph was a life-long Dallas Cowboys fan . . ., “how ‘bout them Cowboys?!” And over the past decade he became an avid baseball enthusiast and loved the Colorado Rockies. He enjoyed family vacations to the mountains, spending time with his nieces and nephews, and loved watching his great -nieces and -nephews grow!
He also loved his work family and was proud to be part of the Lifetime Windows & Siding organization.
Joseph never met an animal he didn’t love! He was devoted to his first chihuahua, Jake, who had already passed over the rainbow bridge. He adored his current chihuahuas, Oscar and Roxy. And he made sure to provide multiple treats and belly rubs to a steady stream of dogs that walked by his office door every day.
Joseph’s loyalty to his friends and family, his generous spirit, and his infectious laugh will be missed.
Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Joe Bob Smith; his adopted father, Carroll Smith; his mother, Diane Smith; and his sister, Kathleen Smith. He is survived by his brother Patrick and sister Trista and their spouses; his nephews Landon and Justin and their spouses; his nieces Jenny and June and their spouses; and his great-nieces and great-nephews.
