Obituary for Larry D Robbins
Larry Dean Robbins, 59, of Strasburg Colorado passed away peacefully on Dec 9th, 2015. Larry was born to William (Jack) and Wanda Robbins on June 18th, 1956 in Brighton Colorado where he spent most of his life on the Lewton home place north of Bennett.
During Larry’s life, he was blessed with four children. Upon his first marriage, he received a daughter Dawn as gift, then his son Jerry was born in 1978. In 1982, Larry married Teri Wilson which he received another daughter Cassie as a gift, then another daughter Regina was born in 1986.
Larry’s love for the outdoors presented many hobbies and activities that he and his family enjoyed. Of these, fishing and hunting were some of his most enjoyed hobbies. Alongside of these, taking time to go to the lake with family and friends was next in line. In 1995, Larry discovered the world of elk ranching. He put his whole heart and soul into these animals and loved every minute that they took.
Larry was a tender man with a hard exterior. He didn’t show very many emotions, but you knew you were loved by the way he worked so hard to provide for you. Larry graduated from Weld Central High School and upon graduation he worked at the Triple 6 Ranch north of Byers, helped Bradbury with their calving then returned to Lewton Farms/Steiger Sales to work as a diesel mechanic for the next 20 plus years. Larry departed Lewton Farms in 1999 to pursue another path in life as a diesel mechanic with Adams County in Strasburg which he retired from in 2012.
Larry is preceded in death by his father William (Jack) Robbins, brother Gary Robbins and sisters Pamela Powers and Debbie Moore along with his grandparents and numerous Aunts and Uncles.
