Obituary for Laura Lynn Lacey
Laura, age 58 of Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
Laura was born in Houston, Texas and lived in Texas, New Jersey, New York, and Colorado. Laura was beloved by many and is survived by her 3 sons – John, Joshua, and Jacob, her husband Neil Lacey, and her siblings, Terry Flatley, Karen Dudek, William Flatley Jr., Stephen Flatley, and Margaret Genden, her father William Flatley, Sr. and stepmother Arlene Flatley.
Laura was a graduate from Boston College and earned a Masters Degree from Long Island University in New York. Laura had a successful professional career as a Social Worker for Child Protective Services in New York City and also in Arapahoe and Adams Counties in Colorado. Laura was a resourceful and tenacious advocate as a Social Worker in dealing with children needing to be placed in foster care and working with foster care families.
Laura was a caring and generous person who touched many lives and was there to make a difference in helping people. Laura was married to Neil Lacey for 28 years and all three of her sons graduated from the University of Wyoming. Laura will be missed and to those who knew her will be remembered as an amazing person, wife, mother, sister, daughter, social worker/advocate for children, and friend.
