Obituary for Leona Ileen Befort
Befort, Leona Ileen, (Adamson, Maier), 85 years old received into God’s care on July 12,2012. Leona was born to Jennie and Lester Adamson on July 27, 1926 in Haxtun, CO, and she graduated from Englewood High School. She met and married Virgil Maier February 10, 1945. To this union two daughters were born, Pamela and Patricia. Virgil passed away due to cancer on June 28, 1958 in Aurora, CO. Leona stayed living in Aurora and raised her two girls alone until she met and married Vernon Befort on April 10, 1960. They added one more daughter Teresa to their family. They lived in Aurora where Vern has his own business (Befort Plumbing and Heating). Leona is preceded in death by her parents, a baby sister Dorothy May who died at birth, another sister JoAnn Weers (husband Lester) of Haxtun CO, her mother and father in-law, Eleanor and Richard Befort, and her first husband, Virgil Maier. She is survived by her husband Vernon Befort of Aurora, CO, three daughters Pamela Boyle (husband Bob) of Shingle Springs CA, and Patricia Smith of Ione CA. Teresa Hayutin (husband David) of Centennial, CO. Six grandchildren Brian, Kelly, Tina, Mandy, Jessica, and Marcus, and eight great grand children, Brittany, Mason, Kendall, Kylie, Calvin, Evan, Emerson, and Iris. She is also survived by three sisters Alice Weibl of Aurora CO, Deanna Ridlen (husband Bob) of Aurora CO, Sharon Hart (husband Lorin) of Longmont CO, and brother-in law Lester Weers of Haxtun CO and several nieces and nephews.
