Obituary for Loretta "Lulu" Hogan
Loretta Hogan Lover, age 85 of Golden, Colorado.

Loretta Lee Hogan was born on October 19, 1932 to George and Dorothy Hogan in Boulder, Colorado. At the age of two, the family moved to Golden, Colorado. Loretta graduated from Golden High School in 1951. The family regularly attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Golden, Colorado. In 1953, Loretta married George Lester Lover Jr. in the red brick building of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. George and Loretta had three children, George “Bob” Robert, Teri and Tammy. Sadly, in 1966 George L. Lover Jr. passed away. In 1968, Loretta married James R. Keller of Colby, Kansas. In 1972, Jamie L. Keller was born.

Loretta was preceded in death by her husband George L. Lover, father George Hogan, mother Dorothy Hogan, brother George “Kelly” M. Hogan, brother-in-law William Petry, and nephew Mark Petry.

Loretta is survived by two sons; George “Bob” Robert Lover of Boulder, Colorado and Jamie Keller (Rebecca) of Johnstown, Colorado. Two daughters; Teri Dickens (Joe) of Castle Rock, Colorado and Tammy Cooper (Chuck) of Golden, Colorado. She is also survived by five grandsons; Robert “Bobby” Lover, Justin “Boots” Lover (Britt), Cody Cooper, Cory Cooper, and Benjamin Keller. Five granddaughters; Daniele “Dani” (Dickens) Stufft (Chris), Ashley Dickens, Karen “Bird” Lover, Nicole “Nikki” Lover, and Charlotte Keller. Four great-grandsons; Brayden Stufft, Jace Lover, Buster Lover, and Colten Lover. Three great-granddaughters; Willa Lover-Brandt, Ryleigh Stufft and Tayten Lover. She is also survived by her sister, Bernita Petry of Golden, Colorado.

Loretta was devoted to her faith and church. She faithfully attended mass every week at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Golden, Colorado until she moved to Boulder, Colorado eighteen months ago. She then attended Sacred Heart of Jesus in Boulder, Colorado. Loretta enjoyed shopping with her daughters, daughter-in-law and granddaughters at her favorite store, Macy’s. Loretta was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at her bedside, at her home in Boulder, Colorado on the morning of February 14, 2018.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Golden, Colorado. There will be a 9:30 a.m. Viewing, 10:00 a.m. Rosary, 10:30 a.m. Mass, followed by a 12:15 p.m. burial at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
Flowers may be sent to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 969 Ulysses St. Golden, Colorado 80401. Donations may be made, at Loretta’s request, to St. Jude’s Cancer Research for children at 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
