Tyndall, Lovella, 87, of Littleton, CO, died Thursday, March 29, 2012 at her home. Lovella Smith was born October 23, 1924 in Albuquerque, N.M., to Leonard Guy Smith and Eileen Henry Smith. She studied at the University of New Mexico where she met James William Tyndall. She married James, of Tucumcari, N.M., on October 22, 1948. She and James moved to Farmington, N.M., Las Cruces, N.M. and later to Littleton, CO, in 1959. Lovella worked as a bookkeeper for Ralph Schomp Auto and Colorado Public Television (Channel Six) TV in the 1970s and 1980s. Much of her life she and her family were members of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Littleton. Lovella was an active supporter of the Loveland Ski Team in the 1960s and 1970s and her kids claim she could have won the ‘snow plow Olympics’. She skied for love of family, not the sport. She hiked hundreds of miles with her Eagle Scout husband and adoring children, through avalanche fields and marshes, once again, for love of family, not the great outdoors. She was the consummate mother who would do anything to be with, and for, the ones she loved. She loved gardening and reading mystery novels. She is survived by her five children: Thomas J.M. Tyndall of Littleton, CO; Jeanne Marie Milton and her husband Emmitt, of Sunnyvale, CA; William J. Tyndall and his wife Hiroko, of Black Forest, CO; Daniel W. Tyndall and his wife Debra, of St. Charles, MO; and Bradley P. Tyndall and his wife Audrey, of New Castle, CO. She was also survived by her 14 beloved grandchildren: Tanya, Michael, and Alexander Tyndall; Patrick, Daniel, Sean, and Ian Milton; Brian, Bruce, Katie, and Korey Tyndall; and Sophia, Tedla and Jalon Tyndall. She had one great granddaughter, Brynlee Tyndall. She is also survived by brother Robert Smith and his wife Barbara of Taos, NM; sister Viginia Brown of Yuba City, CA; sister-in-laws Jean Smith of Ithaca, NY and Betty Smith of Gallup, NM. She is preceded in death by her husband, James William Tyndall, her father, Leonard Guy Smith, and mother, Eileen Henry Smith, and her brothers George and Timothy Smith.
