Obituary for Lyle D. Graff
Lyle D. Graff, age 77, Passed away on October 24, 2018 in Littleton, CO. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Ruby Jean Graff, sons Rodney and David (Devon), brother Lloyd (Elizabeth). Preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Alice Graff.

He is remembered lovingly for being an extremely kind and caring person who never hesitated, even for a moment, to step right in to help family, friends and even strangers when they needed a hand. Be it simply a ride to church or airport, helping with computer problems, hanging the quilts for the quilt show every year, or simply offering an arm to someone walking across some ice. Lyle was involved with the church where he served on several committees and sang in the choir.

Lyle was born in Dalton, NE on August 21, 1941. Upon graduation from Dalton High School Lyle enlisted in the US Army where he served for 3 years; much of which as a radar operator in defense of the U.S. west coast. After completing his military service Lyle entered the University of Nebraska where he obtained a BS in Electrical Engineering, later acquiring a Masters Degree in Communications.

While in the army Lyle met and fell in love with Ruby Jean Nicholson. After dating a year they got engaged, then another year after that married in the summer of 1962. Lyle and Ruby were then married for 56 years and raised two boys Rodney (born 1963) and David (born 1967). Lyle was a very hands-on and available father who taught his sons many handy skills to be able to repair and maintain homes and autos as well as introducing them to computers at a very early age (for the era). He was scout leader for both boys as well as soccer coach several years for David.

In 1970 Lyle brought his family to Littleton, CO where he began working for Martin Marietta (later to become Lockheed Martin) and worked there for 29 years until his retirement in 1999. In years after retirement Lyle occasionally worked with son David at his computer business working on network installations or developing web sites. He also taught computer classes for a couple of years at a local community college. During most of Lyle and Ruby’s retirement years they split time between their home in Littleton and relaxing at their ‘Ozark Retreat’ home in Arkansas where Lyle really enjoyed the slower pace and friendly people.

Memorial service and reception will be held on Tuesday, November 13th at 1:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church in Littleton, CO, 1699 W. Littleton Blvd, Littleton CO 80120.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Littleton Attn: Organ Fund or Alzheimer’s Research.
