Obituary for Lynda Kay Sayers
Lynda Kay Sayers, 52, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, went home to be with the Lord June 20th, 2021 at her home. Lynda was born in 1968 in Wheatridge, Colorado to Hasque P. and June C. Jones. She married Stan Sayers on December 1st, 1990 at Applewood Baptist Church. She attended Arvada West High School and continued her education at Colorado Christian University where she graduated Suma Cum Laude. Lynda received her master’s degree in Educational Counseling from University of Phoenix with a 4.0 Grade Point Average. She worked at Promise Keepers as an executive assistant and in the last several years she worked as an educational assistant for kids with disabilities in the Douglas County School System. Lynda faithfully attended Red Rocks Church in Littleton, Colorado with her husband and son.
Lynda enjoyed her family first and foremost. She loved the mountains and the ocean, and everything colorful in between those two places. She enjoyed playing board games with her family, effortlessly winning without even knowing it. Lynda was the most loyal of friends. Lynda was a pursuer of people’s hearts and settled for nothing less than pure honesty, emotional depth, and pushed people to be the best that they could be. She literally and figuratively strove to climb the mountains of hardship and find peace in the midst of it. Her impact on her family and friends will be remembered in her smiling, blue eyes that looked into your soul. She sat with others with empathy, wisdom, strength, and support as they themselves experienced their own struggles. Her ability to do all this came from being able to sit in silence and the strength of the Lord because of her personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Since she was a little girl, she had an unwavering faith in her Creator: Jehovah Rapha, the God Who Heals. She used to say that the Lord would wake her up in the middle of the night to intercede in prayer for her family. Her legacy can be captured in her home as it is filled with Scripture. A favorite verse underlined in her Bible is found in 2 Timothy 1:6-7, “For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.”
Lynda is survived by her husband, Stan, her daughter, Bethany Naes and her husband Doug, her daughter, Lauren, and her son, John. She is also survived by her mother, June Burke, and her brother, Steve Jones and his wife Joni, her sister, Carrie Hall and her husband James, and her twin sister, Laura Eggers and her husband Troy.
She was proceeded in death by her father, Hasque (Jonsey) Jones and her beloved son, Samuel Austin Sayers. Arrangements are with Ellis Family Services in Littleton, Colorado. The celebration of her life will be held in the mountains on June 29th, 2021 at 12 pm at 27184 Grey Moose Trail, Conifer, Colorado, 80433.
