Obituary for Marie Ann Videtto

Marie Videtto was born on July 8, 1925, in Denver Colorado to parents Mike and Susie Leprino. She survived her husband Vincent Videtto; three siblings Louis Leprino, Angelina Leprino and Mike Leprino Jr. and her daughter Rosemarie Hamblin. Marie is survived by her brother James Leprino and sister-in-law Donna Leprino. Other surviving family members are listed below. She was raised in north Denver and attended Horace Mann Elementary School and Denver North High School.

In the summer of 1945 Marie travelled to New York with her mother where she met the love of her life Vincent (Jimmy). They married in 1947 and lived in NYC for a year before Marie insisted on moving back to Colorado where they spent the remainder of their lives. In 1961 Marie and Jim went into the restaurant business with Marie’s sister Ange and her husband Frank Testa. A couple of years later Marie and Jim went solo and operated the Villagrove, an Italian restaurant in Applewood. Marie’s Italian food became a region favorite, her infectious personality and Jim’s passion for serving others drew people in. In 1974 Marie and Jim opened their second restaurant in the up and coming area known as Columbine Knolls in Littleton Colorado. They operated the Columbine Restaurant and Lounge for eight years before retiring.

During their 74-yr marriage Marie and Jim’s devotion to each other was never ending. They raised three daughters, Rosemarie, Susan and Diana. Over the years their family expanded to include son-in- laws George Hamblin, Pat Trichie and Kirt Ingram; Grandchildren Ben, Chris, Greg, Scott, Megan, Mark and Andrea; Great Grandchildren Mariah, Trevor, Jordon, Tristen, Brigit, Jaxon, Teagan, Carter, Easton, Grayson, Aiden and Riley.

Marie, known as Mertz to her family and friends, had a passion for family and fun. She lived each day to the fullest and along with Jim they were the perfect hosts at every gathering of family and friends. She enjoyed ice cream, golf, bowling, playing cards, going up the hill, attending Bronco games and watching the Rockies. Marie will be remembered by her family and friends for her unconditional love, unwavering support, magnetic personality, her endeavors to lift up those less fortunate and her sassy nature. She will forever be our inspiration and we will strive to make her proud by following her example in life and faith.
