Marilyn Mae Irvine, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on January 22, 2016 in Littleton, Colorado. She was born on July 21, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan, to Sophia Wicker and George Spanberger. Marilyn was a first generation American of Austrian and Polish descent. She graduated from Cooley High and worked as a secretary for four years until she married Harold Danny Irvine in 1950. For the next 30 years, Marilyn dedicated her life to being a devoted wife and mother, raising five rambunctious children. Afterwards, she enjoyed many years of travel and retirement, with her husband, until his passing in 1998 in Brookings, Oregon.
Marilyn continued on in the tranquility of Brookings with her network of friends while attending many music and art events. But eventually her longing to be close to family brought her to Littleton, Colorado in 2007, where she brought love, wisdom, good humor, and happiness to her young grandchildren and all of those fortunate to know her.
Marilyn is survived by her sister, Ethel; her five children Mark, Pam, Mike, Scott, and Debra; her grandchildren, Natalie, Paul, Kristel, April, Ryan, and Ashley, great grandchildren, Grace, Levi, Elizabeth, and Cyrus, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
