Obituary for Mark Alan Stegman
Mark Alan Stegman, 61, of Littleton CO, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Born September 18, 1959, son of the late Ralph and Kathryn (McDonald) Stegman, Mark married Judy Kilsdonk on June 15, 1985 and they celebrated 35 years of marriage together. He spent a semester at Greeley, and later transferred to Arapahoe Community College.
Over the years, Mark honed his wood working skills to the level of master cabinet maker. Not only was this his profession, he also created beautiful personal custom furniture. Mark's attention to fine detail and high quality shone in his cribbage boards, dice and Bronco plaques.
Mark's fondness for reading was evidenced by his ever-present audio books. His passion for anything Science Fiction was legendary. Bookshelves overflowing with Heinlen, Niven and Asimov competed for space with Star Trek figurines. Chuck Yeager was Mark's hero! Golfing was definitely Mark's #1 sport. Playing 18 holes with his Mom and Dad was the next best thing to Heaven.
Family was Mark's highest priority. He exemplified sterling steadfast loyalty, dedication and commitment in his roles as brother, father, friend and husband. His knack was using humor as a tool; easy-going and accepting of those lucky enough to cross his path.
Mark struggled valiantly with MS since 1992. Despite the devastating changes in his body, he never lost his quirky positive nature, or failed to tickle the funny bones of those around him. Mark is survived by his loving wife, Judy; two daughters, Jack (Jessy) Munguia and Dani Stegman; a brother Bill Stegman; five sisters, Marcy Lanners, Linda (Steve) Minnick, Sandy (Donald) Whitlach, Susan (Chris) Skojec and Jeanne (George) Goodwin; sisters and brothers-in-law Frank and Elizabeth Kilsdonk, Joanne Kilsdonk, Dominic DeLeo, Mary and Paul Malischke, Sue and John Danielson, Janet Kilsdonk, Betty Kilsdonk, Ted DeMaria, Tom and Beverly Kilsdonk, Barbara and Nate Thompson and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law Mary and Norbert Kilsdonk and sister-in-law, Patricia Kilsdonk and numerous beloved aunts and uncles.
In lieu of cut flowers, the family would prefer a living plant to honor Mark. Also, a memorial has been established in Mark's name at ProjectAngelHeart.org - Attention: Andrea Pacheco, Donation Director: 303.830.0202 X402.
