Obituary for Norma Alice Arnold
Norma Alice Arnold was born August 31st, 1930 in Sac City, Iowa and died peacefully on August 25th, 2021 at the age of 90. Norma was the daughter of Robert Paul and Irene Dorothy.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband Ward Arnold and is survived by her children Diana Larson, John Arnold, and Paul Arnold, six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Norma grew up on a farm outside of Sac City Iowa during the Great Depression and World War II. She attended school in a one room schoolhouse and later graduated from Sac City High School in 1947.
While attending Morningside College in Sioux City Iowa, Norma met her future husband Ward in Spanish class. Norma and Ward would marry in 1950 and honeymoon in Denver, Colorado.
After Ward graduated from college they lived in Sioux City and later Fort Dodge, Iowa where Diana and John were born respectively.
Norma and Ward moved to Trinidad in the 1960s where Ward worked at the local bank. After the birth of Paul, the family moved to Pueblo, Colorado where Norma finished her bachelors degree at Colorado State College. In 1974, the family moved to Littleton, Colorado.
Norma worked as a substitute teacher and with developmentally disabled children. Ward and Norma started a vending machine business after Ward’s retirement. Norma continued to run the business after Ward’s death in 1990.
Norma was very active in her retirement doing the things she enjoyed most including spoiling her grandkids, reading, traveling, and water aerobics with her friends
