Obituary for Norma E. Ellison
Norma Esther Aasness Ellison passed away on September 13, 2019. She was 94 years old. Born July 12, 1925 in Watertown, South Dakota to Joseph and Jennie Aasness. She grew up in Wallace, South Dakota and attended a business school in Huron and later Augsburg University for a year. Norma married Richard Ellison in 1950 in Wallace, South Dakota. They have two children, Blake Ellison and Lisa (husband Lance) Peterson. She was preceded in death by her two brothers Jim and Herb and former spouse, Richard Ellison. She is survived by her two children, grandchildren Davis and Haley Peterson and her sister Maxine Missios.

Norma began working at age 13 delivering the city newspaper. She would go on to work for an insurance company, a small film company and for a short time as a branch secretary for The Office of Naval Research in Washington, D.C. After living many years in Minneapolis, Norma and her husband moved to Littleton, CO and opened Edwards Pipe & Tobacco in 1969. She ran the business until she retired. While Norma enjoyed gardening, spending time in the mountains and reading, her greatest joy was sharing time with family and friends.
