Obituary for Norma Winter Wright
Norma Winter Wright, born October 24, 1922 in Denver Colorado went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 19, 2017, surrounded with love by her family. She grew up in Denver, went to Barnum Elementary, and graduated from West High School.
Survived by her husband Bob Wright, sister Ernestine Lawson, a daughter Analee, and a son Jim. Preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and a daughter-in-law Lois. Analee and her husband have five children, 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Jim has four children and 10 grandchildren.
Norma deeply loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild. Whenever her grandchildren were with her, one or more of them in her arms or hanging on to her clothes. She played cowboys and Indians with her great grandsons, taught her great granddaughters to cook, had countless cups of tea with her grandchildren and snuggled their little bodies close to her while they slept.
Norma had an unwavering faith in God. She attended church regularly and was a very active member of her church. In her younger years she attended and volunteered her time at Beth Eden Baptist Church. In her later years Norma and Bob made Trinity United Methodist Church their family church where she volunteered her time with numerous organizations and charities. Norma had numerous hobbies including painting, gardening, playing golf and tennis. Norma and Bob where certified in Bob Ross techniques and taught painting lessons in assisted livings and craft stores. Normal and Bob loved to travel in their fifth wheel going all the way to Mt. McKinnley in Alaska or east to Red Bird, Tennessee to volunteer.
Normal celebrated her 94th birthday surrounded by family. Norma will be greatly missed by the many lives that she touched, leaving behind a legacy filled with strength, dignity and love which Norma has blessed each of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchild with.
