Obituary for Norman R. Buskirk, Jr.
Norman Ray Buskirk, Jr., 78, of Northglenn, CO, passed away Monday, September 30, 2019 after losing the battle against Pulmonary Fibrosis. Born April 8, 1941 in Denver, CO to Norman Ray Buskirk, Sr. and Helen Hoscheid Buskirk.

Norm graduated from South High School in Denver CO in 1959. After he graduated, he joined the U.S. Navy. Norm worked for the phone company for 40 years as a telephone installer until he retired in 2001. Norm loved his family and was a wonderful, loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved people and never met a stranger.

He was known for his love of music. Norm played the piano and drums. He loved all music, especially jazz. Norm always had his “ears” on, listening to music as he gardened or did other projects. Norm liked doing anything that involved being outside. His other passion was Kauai, HI. He was lucky enough to go to Kauai 19 years in a row. One of his island friends nicknamed him “Kanaka” which means respected elder Hawaiian. He loved that name.

Norm is survived by his wife, Kathleen Buskirk, daughters Nora (Siegfried) Kantwerk and Clara Trefts and son, James Buskirk; step-son Darin (Bernadette) Derlein and step-daughter Lisa Derlein; two sisters, Diana Buskirk and Toni Prante; five grandchildren, Laura Kantwerk, Natalie Trefts, Austin Trefts, Ryan Derlein and Julianna Derlein; one great-grandson, Vijay Gagnon and many nieces and nephews.

Norm was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law Bill Trefts, brother-in-law John Prante and niece Tracia Tayon.
