Obituary for Paul V. Stewart, Jr.
Paul, age 100 of Wind Crest Community of Highlands Ranch.
Paul Stewart was born in 1919 and passed on just four days after his 100th birthday. We celebrate his life by being grateful that he lived the way he wanted to and where he wanted to, having the work and resources necessary for a good life and that his relationships with his family were lovely and foremost in his heart. He was truly loved by his five nieces: Diane Stewart Kerfeld, Janet Stewart Morse, Margaret Thomas Thompson, Lois Stewart Rider and Charlene Thomas Simunic.
He served his country in WWII, afterward coming home to Ohio and promptly moving out to his beloved Colorado where he spent the rest of his life. He was an engineer with the Army Corps of Engineers and worked on dams and other major projects in the West. His passions, besides his family, were being outdoors, camping and hiking in the Rockies, tennis and photography. He has left us many memories of himself through his beautiful pictures.
Later in his life, Paul made a new home in the Wind Crest Retirement Community in Highlands Ranch where he had many friends among both the residents and staff. He will remain in our hearts and minds as a wonderful example of simplicity in attitude and health and beauty. He will be truly missed by many.
