Obituary for Ralph J. Harlow, Sr.
Harlow, Sr., Ralph J., passed away on October 13, 2012 at Presbyterian/St. Lukes Hospital in Denver from complications associated with complex medical conditions. He was a Colorado native, attended Denver Schools, and graduated from the University Of Colorado with degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Business Management. His work history includes positions with Public Service, Sterns Roger, Martin Marietta, IBM, Litwin, Northern Natural Gas,Valero,and KN Energy. He was a Life Time member of ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) and his association with this organization was instrumental in his two year appointment to NCSL(National Council of State Legislators). He joined Toastmasters which increased his communication skills and public speaking. Ralph married Jeanne L. Fulton on December 21, 1958 in Longmont. They shared many of the same interests and were married fifty-four years. He is survived by his wife Jeanne of Littleton, his son, Ralph,Jr (Jim) and wife, Charlotte, and his two grandchildren, Kirsten and Collin of Ft. Myers, Florida. As a young boy he, along with his father, built a soap-box derby car which won him some recognition in the race. While in High School he lettered in golf; however, during his years at CU he traded golf for skiing and continued to ski for twenty-six years until he had heart surgery in 1986. Ralph also enjoyed jeeping, sailing, and exploring the Colorado outdoors for many years. He was an avid sports fan of the CU Buffaloes and had season tickets for ten years. He always enjoyed watching the Broncos and later became interested in the Colorado Rockies after his grandson began playing little league baseball. He enjoyed and was proficient in various facets of construction, remodeling, and repair. Following his retirement, he found pleasure in gardening and cooking. Many relatives as well as friends enjoyed several meals which often included his home made bread.

Service:
Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Christ Congregational Church, 2500 South Sheridan Blvd., Denver, Colorado. A light lunch will be served in the Fellowship room following the service.
