Obituary for Raymond Reece "Ray" Jenkins
Raymond Reece Jenkins, 82 of Parker passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 23, 2017. Born on December 23, 1934 in Needham, Alabama, he was of twelve children born to Hugh and Izetta Jenkins.

Survived by his beloved wife, Sandra, whom he met in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1956. They were married over 60 years.

Ray held an unfailing faith in the Lord, and was active in the Christian community serving on the Board of Deacons and as a sound engineer.

Serving in Thailand, Japan, Iceland, England, Korea and in the U.S., Master Sergeant Raymond Jenkins served 20 years in the United States Air Force as a technician and instructor. After retiring, he worked in civilian aviation for Frontier Airlines for a decade, then returned to spend 15 years as a civilian instructor at Lowry AFB and Lackland AFB, teaching the curriculum he helped to develop. Ray had a passion for sharing his knowledge with others; he encouraged many to keep improving. Prior to his career in the military, Ray proudly worked at the first restaurant to serve Kentucky Fried Chicken.

He will be dearly missed by his surviving family including siblings, Dollie McClenahan, Maggie Morgan and Paul and Jo Jenkins. His children Shelley Pittman, Randy Jenkins, and Jenece Del Toro. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Mehgan and David Baty and their four children, Jordan and Shauna Del Toro and their six children, Shannah Pittman, Jon Del Toro, Josh Del Toro, Micah Pittman, Job Del Toro, Jacob Pittman, Seth and Arin Pittman, Ellis Aune and Joel Pittman. He is also survived by many friends and extended family including his son-in-laws Mathew Pittman and Dan Del Toro, his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents, eight siblings and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A service and his burial will be held starting at 10:30 a.m. with visitation, followed by funeral services at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 29 at the Chapel at Ellis Family Services, Funeral and Memorial Care at 13436 West Arbor Place, Littleton, CO 80127. Family and friends are encouraged to attend. The service will be officiated by Brian Blauer, Ray’s beloved brother-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, the family has established a fund to offset the cost of burial.

Ray's final resting place will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Littleton, CO.

A celebration of life reception will follow.
