each stage of the grieving process.
Renae M. Kindler of Golden, CO born October 4th, 1961 passed away June 27th, 2017.
Renae was born in Topeka, Kansas to Ray and Carrol Kindler. She was married to Gary W. Smith of Golden, Colorado in 2008. Renae had one daughter, Elizabeth Renae Kindler. She is survived by her husband, daughter, mother, and two sisters – Yvonne Pridie (Pat) and Kristi Miller, and many extended family members. She is preceded in death by her father.
Renae was an incredible woman who touched the lives of many individuals. She was always willing to help anyone that she could. At the age of 18 she left Iowa for Denver to help take care of her ailing grandmother then continued to look in on her grandfather. Over the years she worked in many different fields including bartending, receptionist, accounting, and child care. She truly found her niche in working with kids and did this for many years from her home, developing strong, everlasting bonds with many of these children and considering them as her own. Kathleen Wilhite and Sean Paul Damon were blessed to be among the closest of these and a constant part of Renae's life and family.
Renae could start a conversation with anyone at any time, whether at the store, a restaurant, or during their travels. She was kind hearted and welcoming to those she came in contact with and always remembered those in need.
Embracing the desire to create lasting memories and wonderful life experiences for her friends and family she organized well thought-out parties, dinners, events, and travel adventures for all. She kept everyone in mind and always made sure there was special golfing or fishing time for Gary. Always an excellent hostess she ensured people felt welcome and well taken care of at all events. A favorite getaway for her was the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, where the staff got to know and love her. She never tired of planning for her family and even during the last few months was trying to arrange a getaway for all.
Renae was originally diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013, and had a long hard journey over the next 4 years. Even while struggling in her battle with cancer she always kept her priority of family and faith first, cared for her friends, and extended a hand to those in need. Her continued grace and beautiful smile will remain with everyone whose lives she touched.
