Obituary for Richard Allen Lundy
Richard Allen Lundy, age 66, of Littleton, CO passed away on June 13th surrounded by his loving family.
Richard was born on September 14, 1952 to Ray and Eva Lundy in Fowler, Colorado. He graduated from Fowler High School in 1970. In August of 1972, he married the love of his life, Jocelyn. Rich and Jocelyn both graduated from Colorado State University in 1974. After graduation, they moved to Dallas, Texas where he worked for Texas Instruments for six years. In 1980, the family moved back to Colorado. He then worked for Lockheed Martin for 33 years. Rich loved his job and was proud to work on many special projects in the aerospace industry throughout his career. Rich retired in 2013 and spent the next six years traveling, golfing, working for the Colorado Rockies and spending as much time as possible with his grandkids.
Richard was devoted to and deeply loved by his wife of 47 years, Jocelyn and their three children Mike, Jared, and Rachelle. He coached countless youth basketball, baseball, and soccer teams for his own children, his grandchildren, and even the daycare children that spent time in his home. Rich was the original Uber driver; throughout his life he would chauffeur anybody to anywhere they needed to go. He was the most reliable, steady, loving, and compassionate husband, dad, and ‘Pa’ you could ever imagine. He loved nothing more than to see his wife, kids, and grandkids happy. He will be deeply missed.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Eva Lundy and his brother, Randy.
He is survived by wife Jocelyn, sons Mike (Alicia) and Jared (Skylar), daughter Rachelle (Ryan), grandchildren Morgan, Aniston, Beckett, Kyleigh, Camden, and Tatum, and brother Roger (Annette). He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends who adored him.
In lieu of flowers, please consider sending a contribution in Richard’s name to the Colorado Rockies Baseball Club Foundation: RBI Program (a charity whose mission is to assist financially disadvantaged families and communities by offering an opportunity to play summer baseball and softball at no cost to their families).
