Obituary for Richard Dale Kean
Richard Dale 'Dick' Kean passed on December 21 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Utica, Kansas, on May 25, 1937 to Oral Maxine Kean and Frank Elmer Kean. Dick spent his childhood in Hoisington, Kansas. The family moved to Greeley, Colorado, where Dick joined the Navy and served 2-1/2 years between 1955 and 1957. Dick and Lois married on September 1, 1961, in Hoisington, Kansas. They moved to Lakewood, Colorado to start a family in April of 1962. On September 1st, 2013, Dick and Lois celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. Dick was a friendly, hard-working man. He earned his living in construction in the drywall business. Dick enjoyed camping, fishing, golf, penny poker, country music, and trips to Branson. When he retired, he enjoyed making yard ornaments, which he always happily shared with neighbors and friends. Dick was a dedicated husband and father. Dick is survived by his wife Lois, daughters Valorie and DeAnna, son Greg, and 11 grandchildren Tyler, Sam, Ricky, Kelly, Brandi, Bryanna, Sydney, Ian, Courtney, Brendan, Lauren, one great-granddaughter Tiffany, as well as brothers Dennis and Randy and sister Paula. Dick will be most remembered for being a family man. His generosity, kind spirit, smile and sense of humor will be greatly missed.
