Obituary for Robert F. Conley
Robert, age 83 of Littleton.

Robert F. Conley, a man of vision, integrity and charity, returned home to the Lord on January 8, 2019. Robert, or Bob, was born May 31, 1935 in Casper, WY to Bertine Conley and Eleanor Schneider. He was educated at St. Anthony Catholic School and graduated from Natrona County High School. After high school graduation, Robert spent one year at Casper College and then transferred to University of Wyoming in Laramie where he graduated in 1957. After college, he enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard and pursued the artillery facet of the military; he also became a marksman rated specialist on pistols and rifles. Furthermore, Robert became a firing officer then achieved the rank of captain. His artillery training took him to Fort Sill in Oklahoma, the same location where President Harry S. Truman trained prior to his involvement in WWI.

Robert remained in Casper and briefly later, he and his sweetheart were married in January of 1959 at St. Anthony’s Church in downtown Casper. He worked at Amoco Production CO, a law office in the evenings, and performed weekend maneuvers with the Wyoming National Guard.

Amoco transferred Robert and family to Denver in 1965 where they raised their family of four kids: Elizabeth, Stephen, Robert, and Mark. The Conley family had attended Notre Dame Catholic Church since their arrival to Colorado. His work stints took him through various oil companies having completed his career with Adobe Oil & Gas in 1985. Robert later retired from Adobe professionally as Vice President of Land Operations.

His hobbies were diverse and eclectic. At one point Robert possessed a sizable collection of rare and antique British Motorcycles that were hand restored in England. Occasionally, he rode them much to the delight of curious onlookers. Robert’s other passion was muscle cars from the 1970’s.

Robert is survived by a wife, a daughter, three sons, and five grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date and appropriate notices will be exhibited on this website.
