Robert (Bob) Schultz was born on July 17, 1944 to George and Helen Schultz in LaJunta, Colorado. He passed away on September 7, 2022.
Bob grew up on a small farm in Sugar City, Colorado (located about 30 miles from LaJunta) with his parents and his older brother John. He was instrumental in the operation of his parent's farm.
He was the last graduating senior from Sugar City High School. He graduated with honors and was awarded both academic and athletic scholarships. He was captain of the football team, and participated in the State Music Awards Competition.
After graduating from high school he worked for a small printing company in Denver which ended up going out of business. In 1963 Bob went to work for Pepsi Cola bottling company in Denver where he worked for 38 years. While working for Pepsi Cola, the U.S. Army came calling and he was drafted in 1965. He was promoted to supervisor of the Vending Department and held supervisory positions in both Quality Control and the Production department. He was promoted to Regional Manager which required trouble shooting other Pepsi plants in the country that were experiencing production problems, etc. That position was eventually dissolved and he then became Plant Maintenance Manager at Pepsi Denver. Bob retired from Pepsi on August 1st, 1999. Retirement was one of the happiest days of Bob's life because he loved to travel and spend time with his family.
